When I was little, regret was

When I was little, regret was a tiny piece of candy. I was eager to eat it , but it was out of reach on a high shelf. As I grew older, regret became a name that should have written in someone's diary. But when I turned the pages over and over again , my name never appeared once. Later on, regret was the unspoken love. I always hesitated to express my sincere affection and soon you was away from me. After graduation, regret was the different path we chose. I went south while you headed north, and our lives paralleled forever. Eventually, our separation became eternal.
